What you can do with Moment Savor.

Memories
Recording, browsing, and searching your family stories.
Recording a Memory
A memory is the heart of Moment Savor. You can record a memory by speaking into your device's microphone — it will be automatically transcribed and enriched with AI-generated metadata — or you can type a transcript directly in the Text Entry tab. A memory can also include a title, notes, location, language, and tags to help organize your stories over time.
Browsing Your Timeline
All your memories appear in a scrollable timeline on the Memories page. You can scroll through them chronologically, open any memory to view its full details, and use the search bar to find memories by keyword. The timeline shows your family's shared memories as they accumulate over time.
Searching Memories
Use the search field to look through your memories by title, transcript text, notes, tags, or any AI-extracted metadata. Typing a search term filters the timeline in real time, helping you quickly find a specific story or discover moments you may have forgotten.
Automatic Transcription & Metadata
When you record a memory by audio, Moment Savor uses AI to transcribe your speech into text and extract structured details such as people mentioned, dates, locations, and themes. This metadata makes your memories far easier to search and revisit later, and it happens automatically in the background after you save.
API Tokens
Create and manage tokens for programmatic access.
Managing Tokens
Navigate to Settings → API Tokens to manage tokens that grant programmatic access to your Moment Savor account. You can view all active tokens, see when each was last used, create new ones, rotate existing tokens, or revoke them at any time.
Creating a Token
On the API Tokens page, enter a descriptive name (so you remember what it's for) and choose a scope:
- Read-Only — can only retrieve data (GET endpoints)
- Read & Write — can create, update, and delete data
Saving Your Token
After you create a token, its full value is shown exactly once. Copy it immediately and store it securely — you will not be able to view it again from the app. If you lose a token value, rotate or revoke it and generate a new one.
Rotating a Token
Rotating a token invalidates the old value immediately and generates a new one. Use rotation if you suspect a token has been exposed. After rotating, update any integrations that were using the previous token value.
Revoking a Token
Revoking permanently deletes a token. Any requests made with it will be rejected immediately. Use revocation when you no longer need a token or when a token was created by mistake.
Family Management
Roles, invitations, and how to grow your family.
Family Roles
Every family member has a role that controls what they can see and do:
- Owner — The family's founder. Can manage all settings, delete the family, change any member's role, and export all data.
- Admin — A trusted adult. Can invite and remove members, edit any memory, and manage general family settings alongside the owner.
- Member — A regular participant. Can create and edit their own memories and search the family timeline.
- Viewer — A guest with read-only access. Can browse memories but cannot create, edit, or delete content.
Inviting a Family Member
Go to Settings → Family and enter the email address of the person you'd like to invite. Choose their role and send the invitation. The recipient will receive an email with a link to join your family.
Accepting an Invitation
Click the link in the invitation email. You'll be guided to create an account (if you don't already have one) and join the family. After accepting, you can see and interact with memories according to your assigned role.
Export & Backup
Download your memories and audio for safekeeping.
Exporting Your Data
From Settings → Export, you can download your family's data as a packaged archive. This is useful for backups, migrating to another service, or preserving your history in a portable format. Only an Owner or Admin can initiate an export.
What's Included
The export contains all memory transcripts, AI-extracted metadata (people, dates, themes, sentiment), attached photos, tags, notes, and family member profiles. Every piece of structured data that makes your memories searchable and rich is included in the package.
Including Audio Files
You can choose to include original audio recordings in the export. When selected, your audio files are packaged into a ZIP archive alongside all other data. This option produces a larger download but preserves the recordings for archival purposes.
