When you use Moment Savor, we collect the information you provide directly: your name, email address, and the audio recordings and memories you choose to save. We also collect standard technical data such as your IP address and browser information to keep the service running securely.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide you with the Moment Savor service — storing your memories, transcribing your audio, and making your family's history accessible to you. We do not use your personal data for advertising, marketing, or analytics beyond what is necessary to operate the service. Your data will never be sold or shared for commercial purposes.

Third-Party Processing

To provide transcription and memory extraction, we share your audio and text with the following third-party processor:

• OpenAI — Audio recordings are sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription. Memory text is processed by GPT-4o mini to extract structured details such as people, dates, and themes. OpenAI processes this data under their API data usage policies and does not use API-submitted content to train their models.

We do not share your data with any other third parties for processing, advertising, or analytics.

Security

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest in our database. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a memory, it is permanently removed from our systems. If you close your account, all associated data — including memories, audio files, and personal information — is deleted within 30 days.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — view all the data we hold about you
• Export — download your memories and associated data at any time from your account settings
• Delete — request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Correct — update or correct any inaccurate personal information
